Death by sweets

I was trying to tease my friend with this Arabic sweets we got the other day,but i ended up craving them  right now :(
The moral of the story :
Don't tease anyone with food while fasting and there's no need to dig for pictures that contain food on your computer..

Changing a bedroom can be so hectic, so if you're looking for a change in your life ,try to buy a new book, a movie or you can even try some new places.. but don't take such a decision before thinking twice..

would u?

Something nice happened today on my way to work, the traffic suddenly stopped on the other side, a military person has stopped his car just to help an old man pass the street!!!

It felt like the stories they used to tell when we were kids :) i don't know how many people would do the same? i can't be sure of my answer as i'm not sure if i'll do the same if i were him... i don't think that i'll stop the traffic just to do so !!!

i have so many things to write about so i'll start one by one..
as for now i'm still alive and trying to keep this blog alive as well ;)

As kids we look up for the adults, we dream of becoming one of them, we do our best to finish the required stages and to be called an adult..
We enjoy the title for couple of years then we wish to go back in time and live moments from our childhood.. What used to be called innocence starts to fade away..
Ally mcbeal once said:" we have to reserve some innocence in us so we can be able to pass it to our kids" . It's somehow true, right?

High heels can add a very feminine touch to a girl's look and of course they add some more height , but to me, they are just an object for torturing.. They hurt the back, the feet..
I wonder how some can wear them for a long time without feeling any pain???!!! why can't they design ones that feel so comfortable to wear??
I hate those designers :P

Lemon chicken

My friend and I had a reservation at the Chinese restaurant "Ren Chai" at 7.30 last Thursday, and thanks to me we arrived there at 8 !!!!! Ever since we started the summer time, i'm late for everything, seriously, i can't make it on time.. I'm late for work (emmmm actually i'm always late for work :P) i'm late for any appointment i have !!!
The place is really amazing, the food, oh my god, the food was great, but we were served by the most annoying waiter you can ever imagine.. After a while we felt that him and the other waitresses were whispering about us :P
Our reservation ends at 9, we've finished eating around that time and waited for any one to give us the bill so we can leave, Mr. Annoying came telling us that we have to finish because they needed the table !!!!! ya3ni kaman shwai kan ra7 yemsekna o ytal3na barra :P i told him that we were just waiting for the bill and it was their fault that they didn't bring it earlier !!!
Anyways, despite that annoying waiter, i'm still going to visit that place every now and then to eat their lemon chicken dish..

A walk on the cloud

My friend and i decided to start walking (this decision has nothing to do with weight or ulker's labaneh :P) .... we started almost two weeks ago, no matter how tired we were, we just gather any energy we have and start a one hour walk..
after almost 2 weeks, here some notes to consider if you decide to walk in Amman:
1. Amman is known for it's mountains, ya3ni u'll spend most of your walk tloo3

2. Dogs are part of the population now, you'll have to cope with this idea, act cool and calm if you saw a dog half your size looking at you wishing to have the chance to jump over you (there's one street that has a great view, we're dying to walk there, but thanks to this huge unleashed dog, we can't)

3. Most of the people you're going to run into through your walk are workers (3ommal bona), so it's normal to smell onion while they're cooking their food and to see them doing dabkeh..

4. Taxi drivers are always there in case you're tired, as every passing taxi will launch a horn when they pass near you, they can't accept the idea that you're WALKING just because you want to.

5. if you think that you woke up early on a Friday morning to start your walk thinking that you're not gonna see people, well you're mistaken, as some couples are one step ahead of you well dressed for breakfast i guess..

6. Amman has the greatest views and an amazing fresh air..

i'll post some pics i took during our walks in a later posts..

manipulating with fate..

"What's meant to happen is meant to happen"
i used to believe in that a lot, actually my whole life was based on this rule,if something didn't work out then it's not meant to work out.. everything happens for a reason, we shouldn't interfere with fate..
you can't imagine the inner peace you can have when you actually believe in this as regret seems so far away.
until one day, i thought to my self, what if those things are meant to happen and it just need a little work to make it happen?? what if i'm wasting lots of good things just because i convinced my self with this idea? what if the only thing i want in life that i thought it can't happen ,can actually happen?? so i changed my point of view , i took an action and started working on that issue, i actually became obsessed with this whole thing, i wanna make it happen no matter what, i cared about nothing else..
I ignored all the signs, i didn't listen to anyone.. i just wanna make it happen, i wanna interfere with fate and make the dream a reality..
but again "What's meant to happen is meant to happen"
i realized again that it's 100% true, with all the effort i made, i failed to achieve what i want..
consider it a ghalooshisim and enjoy your inner peace..

Rain and me...

If you really miss a rainy day, and you wake up in the morning wishing it to rain..  all you have to do is ask me to wash my car...
yes, it's that simple....
every time i wash my car, it rains instantly... and just when i try to be smart and avoid washing it, the sun will rise for a week ...

Yesterday i went to the gas station to have my car washed, what drove my attention is that most of the cars being washed were brought by women.
While waiting, there were two women with their children waiting as well, one was shouting at her kids all the time, and the other one was holding her daughter's hand showing her how the process goes, talking to her, listening to her.. i thought "honak 3enayah, wa honaka 3enayet comfort" do u remember this phrase from comfort's ad?? what would that woman lose if she stopped shouting and actually enjoyed this thing with her kids, after all the whole idea of taking your kids to wash the car is to ENJOY....

el mohem my car is dirty now, though i checked the weather before washing it and they said nothing about rain!!!!! see??

why do people hate surprises?? so many people would mention that when you try to do them a nice and sweet surprise...
They just want you to do the thing you're trying to do so straight forward.. why don't they just allow other people to show them how creative they can be, how thoughtful they can be and above all how caring they can be.....

Me as a person do love surprises (good ones of course), although no one has managed to surprise me so far, i mean like really surprised me.. i just have this way of figuring people's plans...

I wake up late as usual, racing time, try hard to be there as early as i can, but i fail...
swith the car on, turn the radio on trying to catch anything to hear during my 7 minutes drive to work .. on my way i keep praying to find a good spot to park my car , most of the times my prayers are not answered and i spend 10 minutes trying to find one .... i enter the door, avoiding the metal detector something, i greet the person at the entrance, press the elevator button, i check in, greet the people at my office, log on to my computer, open the drawers to put the valuable things in , start checking my mail, and then the day will start, either a busy one with lots of work to do, meetings, problems to solve.. or just an extremely boring day with nothing to do (but those cases are rare) ...
A countdown will start at 3.30, the most boring 0.30 hour in my life... at 3:57 i log off my computer, put my things back to my bag, i check out at 4:00, press the elevator button, greet every one again, i walk to my car (with a big smile on my face), switch the car on, the radio will automatically be turned on, try to hear anything nice and full of energy during my 3 minutes drive back home, i park my car at the garage, and a new day will begin now...

it seems so boring writing the daily routine of work but awkwardly i keep doing it every day.. sometimes with no interest of doing it at all, but most of the times i do it with lots of pleasure..
can work be a fun thing to do?? i wonder..

i was watching "HAJJ" with lots of interest this year, i liked the idea of how the saudi TV is transmitting the whole event live, going through people, showing us almost every step of "HAJJ". i guess they did a good job this year..
seriously organizing such an event requires lots of work i mean very hard work.. and every year they come up with new ideas to make it easier and more safe.. can you imagine that a country is hosting 2 million people in addition to it's own citizens and all are gathered in one place !!!!! wow!!!!
But this year sadly two bad accidents happened, first the hotel and today the "mina" incident.
till today's afternoon we were all glad and thankful that the pilgrims managed to finish "el rami"  easily , but sadly 345 were killed...

my brother who went there two years ago was telling me how the authorities there are taking lots of precautions to prevent such accidents, first they renew the whole jamrat bridge, they came up with this idea that the pilgrims will go from one way and when finished they go back from another one, they have changed the shape of the throwing place from circular to oval.. in the coming years they will build a third floor and then a fourth one and so on.. they announce with speakers to the pilgrims with all languages some instructions to follow, as you might have seen how the security people keep a circle in the middle so as to act fast if something happened like today, they keep this space open and empty so they can be able to aid the injured very fast..
what makes me sad is that with all these precautions and effort to make the "HAJJ" so organized and accidents free, still every year some have to die...

may god bless the ones who passed away ..

Ohhh how tired i am at this moment, it was a hectic day, but i liked it :)
As i said before i just love "el wa2feh" with all the "3aj2a" it brings.. i spent the whole day going from one place to another bringing stuff for tomorrow..i tend to keep some stuff till today so as to feel the spirit of 3eed..
I'm the one in charge of bringing the "ma3mool" and chocolate for the house, it's my job to search for new places to buy "ma3mool" from, (yeah we don't have a homemade ma3mool :P) and this is one of the things i enjoy, trying new places.. sometimes i get a credit for doing my job right and sometimes i'm just criticized for the choice i made. so it's not an easy job after all :P this time seems i'll get some credit ;)

every "wa2feh" and every "3eed" i just feel so blessed, for so many things, for being able to get the things i want , for being able to celebrate "3eed" without having to worry about anything in the world, for and for.......... they're just countless..
I keep reminding my self that "3eed" isn't an ornament we buy to decorate our houses with but it's more about feelings, to feel with those that can't enjoy "3eed" for so many reasons and to do our best to bring joy and happiness to them as much as we can...
feelings for the ones close to us, to appreciate, to connect and to be a better person..

we all remember "3eed" when we were kids, and every time we just say that "3eed" isn't the same as it was when were younger, that may be true but today i just thought about it, it can't end at a certain age, i think that we should at every stage of our life develop a way to enjoy it..

hope every one will have a blessed and joyful "3eed"
